LEAP OF FAITH

Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
1 John 5:5

Alex Honnold is the first person to climb the sheer cliffs of El Capitan in Yosemite National Park without the aids of ropes or any safety equipment. He practiced and practiced and even sustained some injuries using the safety equipment. On June 3, 2017, Alex quite literally took a leap of faith to climb free solo and was the first and only successful one to hold this title. He would not have accomplished this had he never taken that leap of faith. Unfortunately, Alex has never taken the leap of faith to believe in God. He is an atheist. God has been good to Alex, even though Alex, at this point of his life, cannot see God.

Trusting an unknown God also takes a leap of faith. We cannot prove that God is real, and even though Lee Strobel, a journalist for the "Chicago Tribune", went on a quest to prove this, he could not. Many men and women have gone on similar quests to prove or disprove God. There is not enough evidence to prove God is not real. Strobel ends up taking a leap of faith and becomes a believer. Had Strobel never taken this leap of faith, he would have never authored the best selling book called, The Case For Christ.

Maybe the time has come for you to take a leap of faith. It takes just as much faith to disbelieve as it does to believe. The evidence we have is stacked in the favor of God. The message has stood the test of time. The change Christ has made in the lives of many believers is monumental. The witnesses who saw the resurrection of Christ had nothing to gain from telling this experience. God may have a big accomplishment for you if you would just take that leap of faith. You have much to lose by rejecting Christ. Choose today whom you will serve. Take a leap of faith and see if He will not pour out His blessings on you.

Dear Father, I take a leap of faith today to trust in You. Through Christ, I pray, Amen.
