IN THE INNER CIRCLE

I will meet with you there and talk to you from above the atonement cover between the gold cherubim that hover over the Ark of the Covenant. From there I will give you my commands for the people of Israel. Exodus 25:22

Many young people try desperately to get in the inner circle. They want to belong to a group to feel included. We as adults, are no different. We want to feel a part of something, and we want to know exactly what is happening.
In the book of Exodus the Ark of the Covenant is first mentioned. It was there, above the two angels, God himself would be in the cloud. Specific credentials were attached to the Ark, including the material from which it was built, all the way to where it was placed, and exactly who was allowed near it. Only the high priest could enter this holy place, and only on the Day of Atonement.
Talk about being in the inner circle! The high priest was certainly in the know. Everyone else could only get a second hand message from him.
The tent, where this Ark was first set up, has been gone for centuries. The temple where it resided has long ago been destroyed. The Ark is long gone, and only theories are left as to where the Ark may exist.
The inner circle now, is a relationship with Jesus, who was God in the flesh. He came and annihilated death and separation, through His redemptive act. Those of us who believe in Him have direct communication with God. We no longer need a high priest to gain access to God.
But before we mount our high horse of pride at being in the inner circle, with boasting words of, “We have been called,” I must add, we cannot and must not boast in our position. Christ died for all. Not just for those who believe. Remember, He died for us, before we believed.
We can all gain access to the inner court of God, by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. It is nothing that we have done. The only difference is, some of us know that, and some do not. Our job now, is to enlighten people to that same knowledge.
We, as Christians, are not some members of an elite group. We should never look down on anyone else, because it is only God’s grace, the same grace that is offered to all, which allowed us access to the inner circle.
Please Lord, help me to spread the message that the price has been paid, for all to gain accesses to you. In Christ I pray, Amen
