MAGIC EYE

...fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.  Hebrews 12:2

From the surface, a magic eye picture looks like a jumble of designs and colors. However, intently focusing your eyes on the picture, suddenly, the real heart of the image comes into 3D focus.

Not all people can see the image in a magic eye picture, but does that mean that the image is not there? Not at all! My husband is one of those who cannot make sense of it, but it's there. I can see it! As I focus not merely on the design but deeply into the picture, more incredible details become visible.

Is this truth valid with Christ? The love and grace of Christ are there for all people, but some cannot see it. Those of us who do see Christ realize that, with time, the more we focus on Him, the more our faith grows; thus, His Image is more evident inside us.

I have noticed that if I try to focus on one aspect of the Magic Eye depiction, the entire picture disappears. I must blur my eyes on the part, to allow the whole to emerge. I think the same is true when we focus on one thing, such as one scripture, one job, one problem, one person, or one that isn't God's whole. We become filled with fear, anger, confusion, or weakness as Christ’s image of peace, kindness, faithfulness, and strength diminish.

The phrase, "Fear Not" is mentioned 365 times in the Bible. "Love" is mentioned 57 times just in the book of John. "Peace" is written 420 in the King James Version of the Bible. There is no question concerning Christlike attributes. We do not serve a God of confusion; we serve a God of apparent precision who brings to our spirit a wholeness and oneness with Him.

The author of our faith will perfect our faith as we keep our gaze on Him. God will make clear in 3D focus, His perfect will. We may not yet see absolutely, but we won't go wrong when our eyes are on Him.

Dear God, Help me to focus more and more on you as you bring all things into focus. Through Christ Jesus, I pray, Amen.
