WHO HAS WHOM?

For this reason I remind you to rekindle the gift of God that is within you...2 Timothy 1:6

My son has an old van, yet each day in faith he gets into the van, starts it, and believes that this van will get him from point A to point B. Now maybe his faith in this vehicle is not as strong as his faith in his newer vehicle to do that task, but there is still some amount of faith involved.  Recently, there was a shift in his perspective. He went outside to drive his van as usual, but when he applied the brakes, the pedal went all the way to the floor with no resistance. Suddenly, his faith changed to, “If I drive this van, I will not be able to stop.” His internal faith came from an outside shift in his paradigm.

If  loved ones have accepted Christ but a paradigm shift has made their faith waver, I tell you there is no need to fear. They may run from God and even may be handed over to Satan in their sinful nature which will end in destruction, but nothing can touch their souls. 1 Corinthians 5:5 says, Then you must throw this man out and hand him over to Satan so that his sinful nature will be destroyed and he himself will be saved on the day the Lord returns. So even if one turns away until their body dies, the spirit is still held in the hands of God.

God put the gift of Himself inside them. Remember it is a gift from God. How can one have the power to lose something that was never earned to begin with? What God has done, no man can put away. We all suffer from time to time in this life. Our faith barometer goes up and down. We feel distant and even separated from God at times, but we must remember, we did not obtain God, but God obtained us. How can we un-birth a life that God birthed? Who called whom? The great God Almighty will hold onto us because He alone has the power. We can rely on this, ...that he is able to guard that which I have committed unto him against that day. 2 Timothy 1:12

Once God comes into a life, He is there. He will guard, keep, observe, and save what was implanted in the heart. We are sealed; we are bought with a price. I ask this question, “Who has whom?” The answer is, He has us. It’s not the other way around. We need to always remember that if the God of the Universe can hold all the stars in place, surely He can hold onto us, even when we let go of Him.

Thank you Father God for holding onto me and never letting me go. Through Christ Jesus I pray, Amen.
