ALL IS HIS

The devil, taking Him up onto a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to Him, “I will give You all this power and their glory, for it has been delivered to me. And I give it to whomever I will. If You, then, will worship me all will be Yours.” And Jesus answered him, “Get behind Me Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve.’”  Luke 4:5-8

God created all things: the powers of this earth and the spiritual realm, the rulers, kingdoms of this world, dominions, seraphims, cherubims, thrones, archangels, angels, heaven and earth, and all that is in it, including the mountain on which the devil took Jesus, and that old devil himself. Jesus was God in the flesh, therefore, the creator. He was in the beginning, and all power, glory, worship, and praise belong only to Him. Satan is so captivated in his own prideful lies that he acted in naivety thinking he might be successful in trapping the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. We are not much different than the Devil.
Do we understand that Jesus is Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come, as we are told in Ephesians 1:21? Do we realize  when Jesus died on the cross and rose victoriously over death and the grave that He spoiled principalities and powers, He made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it? (Colossians 2:15) Do we comprehend that Jesus is the Lord both of the dead and of the living? (Romans 14:9) He is the knower of all things hidden, secret, in the darkness, in the past, present, and future.
Yet we live in these human bodies not fully tapping into this most important aspect: we inherit His riches of glory, (Ephesians 1:18), which means we own His power and dominion. We have His strength in us to overcome evil. Yet we still walk around looking through humanistic eyes of self-pity, dread, doubt, humiliation, lust, pride, envy, and apathy towards God and people. Just like the devil, we think we can barter with God using things He created to get what we want. Our bargaining reveals the pride of thinking that our way is the right way. We don’t always want what we actually deserve. In actuality we have placed ourselves on a pedestal above God, seeking self worship instead of God worship.
Every day we need to humble ourselves before God Almighty and plead for a full realization of His power in us. We need to make every action one that brings glory and honor to Him. We need to follow His path of righteousness. We need to cease resisting His grace. We need to acknowledge His ownership in us. And most importantly, we need to worship only Him. If we truly have a desire to walk more in the spirit than in the body, we only need ask in His name. He will hear our cries and answer by pouring out His blessings on us.
Help me Lord Jesus to always act like your adopted child instead of a captive of Satan. Amen
