NO STRINGS ATTACHED

Then he hugged the children and blessed them. Mark 10:16

We all long for the loving touch of another human being, a touch that is free from all attached strings of sex or manipulative purpose. We crave a hug that says, “I love you for who you are.” We are all emotional beings who desire acceptance, inclusion, and value.

God desires the exact thing from us. God did not make us like puppets on strings, controlling every movement we make. He gave us the freedom to choose Him as well as the freedom to reject Him. God has no hidden agendas for wanting a relationship with us; He merely desires a relationship. This freedom makes His loving touch so much less threatening.

He loves every human being. Each person, skillfully created by His hands in His image, is included in His circle of love. We should never feel threatened to come to Christ. Absolutely free of charge is His vast wealth of compassionate love.

Throw away all the high walls of inhibitions that you have erected into your adult life, and come to Christ as a child. Don’t fall for the lie that you must clean up your act before you go to Him. Christ will never turn you away, even when your clothing is the filthy rags of sin. We all wear the same garments. He knows of our pasts which have shaped us, and He loves us even more.

Do you need a non-threatening accepting hug that conveys a message of your worthiness? You are most definitely worthy because He made you a priceless one of a kind. Come to Christ with the heart of a child, and you will receive the best no-strings-attached hug ever.

Father, I come to you today for a hug. Through Christ, I pray, Amen.
