THE HILLS

Please pray for us as we travel back to see my mother. Our family will be weeping as we say our last goodbyes to her here on earth. I know mom will be in a much better place, but I will sorely miss her until we are reunited once again.  Today I am posting only a poem I wrote. I think it is fitting for today.

THE HILLS
Written by: Jenny Calvert

My journey is to a higher place;
Yearning release from these wretched trenches.
The crystal water invites me come.
Parched tongue of thirsty soul now quenches.

My journey is to a higher place;
My keeper will not slumber nor sleep.
Hand in hand with help lift me up.
Glorious peace the absence of deep.

My journey is to a higher place;
This vantage point all suffering diffused.
In quiet stillness the voice speaks to me,
“Look up Look up and you’ll be renewed!”

The hills, oh the hills are my higher place,
Transforming, majestic a shade of protection!
Coming and going I’m safe in the arms
Of the light of that love, in me His reflection.

Based on Psalms 121
